Didn't Northcliffe Media "This is ...." do this under the Beehive banner a
few years ago.
There were a lot of community websites set up (quite old meeja looking) and
hosted by the project.
It has now closed although I understand existing sites are still being
supported.
Does this undermine encouraging local social enterprises / community support
organisations and web developers to generate WordPress (or other) sites for
the local community ?

What commitments will they give? Is it going to be run by an
independent community group that can try to survive change of
direction or ownership at CN Group?
I've had Big Media nuke too much of my writing to give them anything
of value any more. Even Small Media, I back up stuff I want to keep.
Trust no-one. ;-)
