[Digital-Mentor] web description

Echoing something that Dave has said, whatever happens with the bid, the
community is a reality and there is a certain level of ownership around the
world. Even if we all end up deciding it's an annoying bit of jargon with no
relevance to our real social missions, it is turning into a very valuable
collaborative space.

I just wondered if it was a good idea to have a fresh description for the
websites. Something like

An independent and open community of people and organisations interested in
using digital technology to support connectivity in communities.

Currently collaborating on a bid for... etc
Or something similar.

Despite the fact that the community has been forming for all of six weeks
(if that), for newcomers it looks like a very developed thing with some
formed ideas. The words 'clique' and 'exclusive' have been used on my blog
post and it wouldn't do any harm to try and make sure that this is
perception can be easily overcome by those who are interested.

It also helps open up the space for people who might have linked up on the
site and who want to collaborate on projects other than the DCLG bid.

best wishes,
Clare
